Bringing the hexagons together ......

The hexagons , which I posted about few weeks back here , are now glued together forever ; ) It formed a pretty circular cushion cover because that was the only shape I could manage with the number of motifs I had created . I don’t have a circular cushion so I used Anshita’s Barbie cushion to display my cover .

I have not used any lining for this which I thought is not required too . I do plan to get a new cushion which would give the white background . I made this with Laura knitting yarn and hook size 4 m.m.

I generally end up making front side and the project goes into WIP status until I make up my mood/mind for adding a fabric on the back side . But this time , I crocheted a stylish back for the cushion .

I used a circle motif from Edie Eckman’s book ‘ Beyond the square crochet motifs ’ and then crocheted long chains joining back to the motif forming a loop . I then joined these long chainy loops to form the outer circle and did some double crochet rounds making it the same size as front part to join .

It can be used from both sides . Isnt it stylish ? Hope you like it .

Happy week ahead !
Preeti :)

  36. Your colors and ideas are breathtakingly beautiful! I just started crochet after a long break, because I only knew of afghans, and they are too heavy for my now handicapped hands...but I happened across motifs! Flowers! Hexagons! Paisley! Hearts! Circles! I can do those small things if I rest my hands for 2 days after each created motif. So I bought bright yarn over the internet, and crocheted enough motifs to cover my nightstand and my children said I should join them and make a pretty place mat for my bedside table. I spend most of my days too I'll to be out of bed since becoming handicapped by illness, and my bright motifs are so cheery! So, I'm trying to get ideas on how to stitch together motifs that are slightly different in shape and size. I happened across your blog, and wanted to tell you how talented you are! So many pretty creations! :-)
