Reporting my progress

Thank you so much for your support on my new venture !! :) I am feeling motivated !!

Here is my progress on cross stitch, crochet and one more new thing :)

Jungle Japes, Height Chart by Durene Jones. I did the tree trunk on the bottom left and few animals on the top.

Here is the close up of the top - monkey, frog and a wild flower. I ran out of threads for these and have ordered yesterday .

Some colorful crochet in the making .

Harvested spinach from my balcony garden

My mom was here in the month of January. I framed this Humming Bird cross stitch I did last year and gave it to her . This was among the beginning cross stitch projects and I did not quite get the right fabric size . So I was left with more on the top side . I think that is fine .

I made this first printable on Adobe Illustrator. Most of the tags, including button images , are done from the scratch . Now that I need to maintain two websites and other hobbies too, I need to ensure I have time for all . If I just do what I am feeling, then I will be frustrated for not doing the other things I love .

I could not get any simple crafty timetable online. This one will contain higher level activities and not specific projects I want to work on. For eg. Planned will have Crochet on Monday, Cross stitch on Tuesday etc. Indulgences is like for me - minimum 15min. of book reading, maximum 15min. of Pinterest. I spend 45 min. on newspaper reading daily :(

This will not conatin any household activities. I maintain that on a free simple iPad app - Jamie's To Do. You can see that app here . There is a lovely story behind it. A developer husband made it as a gift for his wife .

If anyone of you have multiple hobbies and interested in this timetable, I will email you this image file.

My Birthday is falling this month and is a milestone Birthday - 40th :) I am busy energizing the two people at home to do something and they have started obliging :) I already got a lovely gift from my Mom when she was here . Have you seen what crafty things I made on Raj's 40th B'day? If not, then take a look here .

I will tell you more about my B'day plans for myself in next post :D . Right now, I am done with enough words for you to read:)

Thanks for reading and seeing!!
Preeti

  1. Hi Preeti! I must say that your skills have improved so so much, cross stitch, crochet, and anyway I love seeing your creativity! Which websites are you running? I must have missed something...
Take care and I am sure you will have a blast on your birthday!

  2. What lovely stitching, framing and spinach! The hummingbird looks lovely. There should always be a larger amount of fabric at the top when framing otherwise the picture can look wrong. So making a mistake with the fabric size worked out for the best! :)

I wish to have one for myself...but you know timetable doesn't suits me :) the more I try to get organised with my work the more cranky I get...:-) that is why I have reconciled myself to the fact that planner & I don't gel together..: ( Take care & have a nice day !!!:)

  8. Great progress! The timetable looks like a nice idea but it would never work for me. Once in a while I do think of planning my time but I know I'll never stick to it. The Humming bird cross stitch is beautiful.

The humming bird picture looks lovely too, I expect your Mum was very pleased with it.
I use a simple diary and just note down the blogging SAL dates and which project I worked on each day.

  20. Your stitching progress always amazes me, and I admire your organizational charts, too. The project you framed and gave to your mom is so very lovely, something for her to treasure. I am planning how to celebrate my 65th birthday on February 17, and will be interested to know how you celebrate your 40th! So far I am planning to have a birthday dinner with my family at home and am having fun considering what the menu will be :) xx

  25. Thanks so much for the app Preeti. I have downloaded it! I just organise myself with a simple planner otherwise. All your WIP look lovely! That spinach so lush.

  26. Isn't fresh spinach wonderful? I feel better when I add some to my salads. :)

My husband gets a planner at work but he doesn't use it (he is very digital) so I rescue it and fill it with my crafty indulgences. I don't organize my time because I'm too flighty but I do use it to keep track of how long/often I've worked on a project. And my crafty purchases. And books read (a new thing this year).

  27. Your gift looks so pretty! No worries about the frame, I think it looks beautiful just as it is! :)
Those little animals are so cute!!! Curious to see it complete :D
You know, I bought one Margaret Sherry kit to stitch for Lourenço this year :) His baby room didn't have much Msherry stitching but his new room will ;) I love her designs but not so much for the baby time.. now yes! All those cute animals will make an adorable room for my little boy ;) I will show it later :D
    When is your Bday?? :p
