Surprises for my blogger friends !! :)

Recently two of my blogger friends Kim and Jo celebrated their milestone birthdays . I had sent both of them a surprise gift package :)

It was difficult to choose what to make because both of their cross stitch choices are different than what I make .

I made a cross stitched card for Kim with the letter 'K' in French style lettering designed by Susan Bates . The chart is from the magazine Cross Stitch Crazy , July 2016 issue which I purchased on my family vacation to Australia in May this year . You can see my craft books and yarn haul in Australia here and here . You can see the beautiful gifts Kim sent me as part of her Bday RAK .

These are the extra crafty things I sent with the card . Fabric, buttons, crystal chain for her miniature dolls and a lovely fabric pouch depicting an enlarged version of  the miniature paintings of Indian princesses . She was very happy with my surprise :)

Jo received this cross stitched stick figure super woman character , 'Unstoppable' :D because she is always superbusy with multiple projects and SALs apart from her work . The chart is from the book 'Attitudes A to Z' by Kyla May

And the extras - Buttons, fabric and the zippered pouch . She also loved all the things :)

Showtime!! The cherry tomatoes are on and busy coloring . I can't let the entire bunch grow red otherwise the remaining tomatoes won't grow .

I am busy with few things as I have volunteered for a week long function in my apartment society . There is a weekend where we would have a DJ and Dandiya(traditional dance using sticks) and other entertainment and food stalls . I am also putting my craft stall just for fun and if I happen to sell anything, I am going to donate to charity as you know I am not into business but more into hobby and designing. Wish me good luck as this is the first time I am setting up a stall and have lot of apprehensions too . Raj has been supportive taking up more housework to allow me spare time but I am still uncomfortable standing on the other side of the table . Hope everything goes well :)

Have a great day!
Preeti

  6. Lovely stitch work and gifts. I read last year that you should take the tomatoes from the vine once they've started to turn red. They will continue to ripen on their own after that. I had three plants last winter that did really well and were always in different stages of ripeness. Wishing you much success with selling your handiwork.

Good luck with your stall. I'm sure it will be a huge success as you do such wonderful work. I once put a stall in Diwali mela organized by my last organisation. Nothing handmade by me but I just wanted to get the experience of a stall. I had fun even though I had minimal sales.

  22. Hi Preeti! You are such a generous soul, I am sure the giftees would love the gifts :)))
Oh wow, this is really some kind of a beginning actually, setting up a stall. All the best Preeti. What things are you going to display there? Crochet, sewing projects? Cross-stitch? I have some ideas on what I would like to learn making, and hopefully I will get to it soon. I am very excited.
Here Navratras start from the 1st of October, then Dussehra, then Karva Chauth, then Diwali - so many festivals!
    Have a splendid weekend!

  27. Your cards and gifts for Kim and Jo were lovely! The buttons are especially cute. :)

Congrats on your cherry tomatoes! I pick my tomatoes as soon as they start showing a little red. They will continue to ripen nicely on the counter... plus they're easily snacked on that way lol.
