It is time for my Messy-to-Classy . I am still working on untangling the stuff I have rather than targeting the entire craft room . This month I rearranged a box and a drawer .
I needed a metallic thread for one of my projects and this wasn't so inviting at all .
So I just took these brats , pulled them apart and leashed them onto the bobbins . Better now !:)
The count of my small left over yarn balls is increasing and I think I should now plan some stash busting projects .
I have dedicated first week of every month for my kitty litter project only . It is no less than an HAED and unless I put in more time, its going to be a forever project .
At least now it looks like a cat . I will do the back stitching once the adjacent cats are stitched . I start from the middle of the chart and work outwards .
Back stitching, though give interesting results, yet it is a hardworking task like weaving-in yarns in crochet . And for this big project, I guess I should start back stitching when certain amount is done . But again , I have read that some stitchers do back stitching after they wash the completed project . Also , I have recently started using these 8"x8" Q-snap frame . Will that affect back stitching when I roll the fabric ? What do you say?
I usually do not use frame because the local aida fabric that I use is soft and I stitch in hands . I cut the fabric, hem it, then I soak, rinse, dry and then iron it . The Dimensions kit fabric isn't soft and so I started using Q-snaps . I did not find it convenient to use it in the beginning but now I am getting used to it .
My progress on LadyBird fairy by Joan Elliot is also satisfactory . I did a little bit of skirt and the green shades .
I have opened the April-May link for 'Messy-to-Classy' . If you happen to reorganize your stash/crafting area, please do share .
Have a nice weekend!

I like seeing things organized, even though they again get messed up very soon :)

happy organizing dear!
ReplyDeleteIt is very satisfying to see how neat your supplies look now.
ReplyDeleteNice progress on both projects too, especially the Ladybird Fairy. She is a favourite of mine.
Lovely progress Preeti. Your box and drawer look great.
ReplyDeleteLinda
Beautiful cat - I look forward to see the progress.
ReplyDeleteI never used a frame but I want to try it. Beautiful projects!
ReplyDeleteThis is great, I have to clean up supplies often, in two days I back:-)))
ReplyDeleteIt's always such a good feeling after you've organized your crafting supplies :) Nice progress on those large projects, Preeti! I stitch in hand so I have no advice about the Q-snaps...

Organization is something which is elusive to me. My work table right now resembles a dumping ground. Nice progress on your cross stitches.
ReplyDeletePreeti: I love organizing, You have done a great job.
ReplyDeleteLove your Kitty project, the Ladybird looks very interesting.
I love my Q-Snaps, I have many I can interchange for larger projects.

Love all your organizing, I can't keep things tidy. Not sure what these Q snaps are, I can' embroider without using a frame and have several plastic ones that imprision the fabric so tightly that it is then difficult to remove. I use the old wooden ones, perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love a good tidy up! Your yarns look so pretty in that drawer, I'm thinking granny stripe blanket, Attic 24 style (have a look at the Attic 24 blog if you don't know what I'm talking about).
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch looks great as always, I have started 3 HAEDs and am itching to start another!
Great stitching Preeti!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh.....if only organizing the stash would be a once off thing! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Darling.
ReplyDeleteVim lhe desejar, uma Feliz Pascoa ( Happy Easter ) for you, und your Family.
Kiss und Hugs
Lovely metallic floss and even your yarn drawer looks fabulous with its cheerful colors. :D Now that the weather has been nicer I have been playing around with organizing... at least it's organized in my head. :b
ReplyDeleteI have not used Q-snaps but I could see where they might cause a problem with the backstitching. I know I've heard complaints about them smooshing the cross-stitches but I would guess that they also would distort the backstitching. Wish I could be of more help.
Well done on the threads. It is a great satisfaction, to me, to get things in order.
ReplyDeleteLove your kitty project! I started a kit(now a UFO...) that looks very simular. Great progress. You JE fairy is gorgeous! Well done all around!
Hello
ReplyDeleteJust found your lovely blog.
Your cat project is gorgeous!
Love your tidying - I always wonder what to do with leftover balls of yarn which seem to take up so much space!
Happy Thursday x

Beautiful progress on your Kitty and Lady bird. Your yarn drawer looks lovely all organized.
ReplyDeleteSomeone on Instagram is doing that same kitty pattern. So much detail. I stopped doing those sort of projects years ago. Quick and easy is what I go for now. I really need to organize around here but keep putting it off. One day it will happen, maybe, I think. Ha! Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteΤο γατάκι είναι υπέροχο !
ReplyDeleteΧαιρετίσματα από Ελλάδα !!

ReplyDeleteThe progress is great, keep up with your goals
Happy stitching
Amazing blog and very interesting stuff you got here! I definitely learned a lot from reading through some of your earlier posts as well and decided to drop a comment on this one!
