Recycle Rush !! :D

There isn't any 'Gold Rush' happening and as an avid crazy crafter I will always prefer a 'Recycle Rush' turning 'just unwanted things' into 'beautiful unwanted things' :D

Well, I woke up to a hard realization that my home isn't going to get any cleaner or clutter free just by pinning homemaking tips on Pinterest . That's what I (we, considering he did his part) was doing last two weeks - clothes and kitchen . I gave away items in good condition and now I know what's there in the loft too . I no longer throw 'don't know' looks at Raj when I ask him to pull something from the loft. Always, the entire content of loft is brought down whenever I need one small thing which I strongly anticipate that it is hiding in one of the corners of the loft . Sadly, that doesn't happen and we have three such big lofts .

I had plans to recycle these boxes of multi-flavored cheese wedges into something crafty as they are good to make decorative button shape boxes . Anshita likes flavored cheese wedges and we usually get very often for her snacks . But I kept only two to recycle .

I have tried to take good pictures as they do in many DIY sites to make the easy-peasy craft look exotic ;)

Painted as a large button and added a lace on the edge .

My first quilling attempt , I deliberately let it roll in any direction inside not following the quilling concepts.

I also made good progress on my height chart : completed flower, monkey face and started the giraffe on the top .

I have been collecting many items for recycling purpose and I think it is time to declutter that as well.

Thank you for your comments on my last post, I will be closing the Messy to Classy link party tab . I need to update my cross stitch finishes on the blog . So far , I have been updating on the right side bar for easy access to someone who is new to my blog but now I am thinking to add tab for finishes, both crochet and cross stitch . However, in mobile version both the tabs and sidebar aren't visible . How do you prefer to display?

Anshita's annual exams will be over this Friday and then I will have a leisure weekend to design and write some crochet patterns for my website . I haven't done much after I first released it .

Have a crafty day !

Kids Crafty Time !!

Hi ya!!
I just wanted to share a couple of craft items which my daughter created few days back :)

Paper plate clock

Paper plate clock best out of waste

This wall clock is made from paper plate as part of  'best out of waste' project in her Hindi language subject. For those who do not know Hindi, here are the captions in the clock :

12 pm- lunch
3 pm- TV
6 pm- playtime
9 pm - sleep time
And the cute smiley in the center asks - Study time?? :) Isn’t it cute?

Another one below was for the gift wrapping competition in her school. She did not win any prize but she has done a wonderful job!  I made the lock and key embellishment for her. The lock caption reads 'Unlock my wishes ! '

Best out of waste !!

Hi !!!

Hope all of you are enjoying your weekend ! I did not do anything special ! Just visited my new apartment under construction after a long time ! I am looking forward to it and eagerly waiting to create a craft corner for me once it is ready :)

I do not have any separate place for my craft work in my existing apartment. We bought it around 9 years back thinking we would not stay here for long . But , we fell in love with this historic city of Hyderabad and now planning to shift to a bigger flat . I still do not have a separate room for craft in the new house too, but I will turn a part of guest room into craft corner :)

I am done with my crochet bag , but just need some more finishing touches . Meanwhile I would like to share one of my 'Best out of Waste' items that I had done around 3 years back . These are my late mother-in-law's aluminium boxes , may be 70-80 years old which were not in a condition to use . We were about to put that with other scrap items , but then I decided to redecorate and use those for keeping some of my craft items .

It was a set of five boxes , no idea where the fifth box is . I had some baby pink oil paint with which I painted the box both inside and out . I then painted some random flowers with left over acrylic paints and my daughter glued the sequins. I hope you will like those !

TIP# If you are planning to do this and using oil paint for the base , better not to use for edges of  boxes and lids . Use acrylic paint there as oil paint will peel off after frequent use .

WIP: Cross stitch
one of my friend did her cross stitch piece and shared the pattern with me . It is a set of teacups stacked over . I converted the DMC floss into corrsponding Anchor ones and trying to do that !

It was a lucky day for the soft toys at home! My daughter has gathered them all and enjoying her weekend ! :)) They are going to watch all the movies and TV shows with us and will head back to their places only by Monday morning !:)

Happy Weekend to all of you !! :)

Warm regards ,
Preeti :)
